Country road to Limerick

The conference is held in Limerick, on the other side of the island. I decided to take a 5-hour bus road trip. Ireland is not larger than Taiwan. The reason the trip took so long was because the bus seldom drove on highways. So I travelled through farms after farms, one small village after another.

I found the trip was spectacular but too short.

The small towns were filled with colorful homes (and a lot of bars, of course). Many streets were paved with stone bricks. Everything looked peaceful.

There were many larger and small medieval stone castles scattered in the fields. Ireland must have a violent past. Sorry I don’t know any Irish history at all.
